3.0 out of 5 stars Not much softer than regular Lansinoh pads., December 30, 2010

I got these because the regular Lansinoh disposable pads (and every other nursing pad I’ve tried) felt scratchy to me. I didn’t find these to be much better. They were bulkier and more padded but they were still scratchy (though not quite as bad) and showed through clothing worse than the regular pads. The sticky backs didn’t stick as well either. All in all, I don’t think they are worth the extra money. I’m going back to the regular pads. I don’t think there is a perfect breast pad out there. I’ve tried all different kinds from disposable to washable and even though none of them are what I would like them to be, the regular Lansinoh pads are the best I’ve found – I like the sticky backs, I’ve never leaked through (I don’t leak much, but just can’t seem to ditch pads altogether), and I can wear them in a bra or a in nursing tank without a bra and you can’t see them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Softer than regular Lansinoh pads, but not as good as Natracare, April 10, 2012

Yes these are a bit bulky and they are individually wrapped, but they ARE much softer on the nips than the regular Lansinoh disposables. I agree that they don’t feel much softer based on hand feel alone, but my nippes can certainly tell the difference – these are not nearly as irritating as the regular ones. At home I usually prefer using cotton washable/reusable pads (my favorite so far are the organic cotton TL Care pads available on Amazon), but these are great when you need to have disposables (e.g. for bouts of thrush) and when you need to have a waterproof layer for better leak-through protection (e.g. going to work or otherwise leaving the house). Highly recommended. Tip: these are available for much cheaper (at least at the time of writing) at drugstore dot com…at that pricing they are almost the same cost per pad as the regular Lansinoh pads, so why wouldn’t you get the softer ones?
ADDENDUM (added 4/24): Since writing this review I discovered Natracare brand disposable nursing pads .. very hard (and expensive) to find online, but carried at natural health food stores like Whole Foods, Mollie Stone’s, etc. They run about .79 for a box of 25. I’m in LOVE with the Natracare pads! They are made of all natural materials (no plastic layer, no chlorine, etc) and are pillowy soft. Because they don’t have a plastic layer, they are much more breathable than the Lansinoh pads (very important if you have thrush) .. they’re much softer .. they’re more natural.. the leakage protection is just as good 99% of the time (not sure how they manage this, given that there’s no plastic layer, but somehow the protection is very good) .. and they’re only marginally more expensive. Only downsides I have found is 1) they’re a little smaller in diameter than the Lansinohs, and 2) they don’t have any adhesive. The net result is they tend to move around a little in my nursing bra, especially at night – I’ve woken up due to leakage a couple times. Nonetheless, they are still my favorite nursing pads. Highly recommend the Natracare pads – I’d only consider getting the Lansinoh (either the ultra soft or the normal variety) if you are extremely budget conscious and/or you really need the 100% waterproof layer.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best nursing pad, July 12, 2011
This review is from: Lansinoh Ultra Soft Disposable Nursing Pads, 36 Count (Health and Beauty)
Like many reviews I have read on many sites, these are the superior pads. This is my second child and I get quite the milk production. I am frequently leaking from my breasts. I used Lansinoh with my first child. This time, I first tried a less expensive pad, the Gerber Nuk ultra thin. I was miserable. To be frank, it sucked! The material didn’t feel as nice, but most importantly, it didn’t seem to absorb the milk as soon as it left my breast, as the Lansinoh does. I was always wet, as were my clothes, especially when my son started nursing on one side and the other began to run like a faucet! I also use the Lansinoh breast cream, which is very nice.
Do yourself a favor…don’t bother with the others. This is the superior pad worth the extra money.
TIP*** I found this pad for .49 for a 60 count box on Drugstore.com!! But, to get free shipping, you need to spend . (For me, that’s not an issue…I shop at that site monthly. They have good prices!) Come on Amazon…you should match this!!
